Timothy Sidney Robert Hardy, (Cheltenham, 29 ottobre 1925), è un attore britannico.
È un noto attore di cinema, teatro e televisione. È anche un esperto di longbow.
Figlio del preside del College di Cheltenham, fu educato al Magdelen College dell'Università di Oxford dove ha conosciuto Richard Burton e con il quale ha stretto una forte amicizia. Frequenta la famosa Rugby School dove si narra nacque il gioco del rugby e che fu frequentata da illustri personaggi come Lewis Carroll, Neville Chamberlain, Salman Rushdie e molti altri.
Fu durante la rappresentazione dell' Enrico V che Hardy sviluppò un interesse nelle strategie militari medievali, questa passione fu tale da spingerlo a scrivere e realizzare un acclamatissimo documentario sulla Battaglia di Azincourt.

Iniziò come attore classico, recitando Enrico V nell'omonimo dramma di Shakespeare, in TV in An Age of Kings (1960) e girando per la BBC Coriolano. Attratto dalle guerre medievali, scrisse e presentò in televisione un documentario con soggetto la Battaglia di Agincourt, avvenuta durante la Guerra dei Cent'anni, e che fu immortalata dallo stesso Shakespeare nell' Enrico V. In questa battaglia gli inglesi per la prima volta usarono il longbow (letteralmente "arco lungo") che si rivelò fondamentale per supplire all'inferiorità numerica in battaglia. Hardy è un riconosciuto esperto di quest'arma.
Il suo primo ruolo continuativo è stato nella parte dell'uomo d'affari Alec Stewart nella serie televisiva The Trobleshooters per la BBC (1966-1968), mentre il più famoso è il ruolo di Siegfries Farnon nella serie Creature grandi e piccole (1978-1990), tratta dalla novella di James Herriot. In Hot Metal ha interpretato un duplice ruolo: il direttore di una rivista ed il suo sfruttato editore.
Ha interpretato svariate volte il personaggio di Winston Churchill, prima fra tutte Winston Churchill: the wilderness years nel 1981 che gli valse il premio della BAFTA.
Con Richard Burton ha recitato nel famoso film La spia che venne dal freddo.
Recentemente ha interpretato il Ministro della magia Cornelius Caramell nel secondo, terzo, quarto quinto e molto probabilmente nel sesto capitolo della saga di Harry Potter.
Ha scritto un libro sul longbow ed è stato uno degli esperti consultato dagli archeologi che hanno studiato la Mary Rose. È stato inoltre insignito del titolo di "Comandante dell'Ordine del Impero Britannico" nel 1981.
