Matthew David Lewis è un attore inglese.
Ha un fratello di nome Antony Lewis e i suoi genitori si chiamano Adrian e Lynda Lewis. Prima di iniziare a girare i film di Harry Potter, aveva già lavorato in altri film: This Is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper (2002), Heartbeat (1999), Where the heart is (1997), Dalziel e Pascoe(1996), Some kind of life (1995). Attualmente è impegnato, insieme al resto del cast della saga, a girare le scene del settimo e ottavo adattamento della saga del mago, Harry Potter e i Doni della Morte parte I ,dove interpreta un amico di Harry, Neville Paciock (Longbottom nella versione originale inglese). Harry Potter e il Principe Mezzosangue, ultimo film in cui ha partecipato è uscito nelle sale il 15 Luglio 2009.
Frequenta la scuola inglese St. Mary's Comprehensive School in Menston. La sua squadra di calcio preferita è il Leeds United, i suoi gruppi preferiti sono: i Green Day, i The Killers, i Guns N' Roses e i Velvet Revolver; i suoi hobby sono la lettura, lo sport, giocare ai video games, alla PlayStation e sulla calcolatrice del padre, inoltre ama la chitarra e la musica, segue il tennis, il calcio, il croquet e il Badminton.
