Possibly it was dark enough that Mrs. Figg didn´t worry that he might notice the wand; more likely the risk of his noticing the wand was outweighed by the risk of encountering Dementors without a wand at the ready (OP2).

Quando il gruppetto incontrò il Sig. Prentice, la Sig.ra Figg disse ad Harry di non rinfoderare la bacchetta.
